![]() Newsletter #3 - November 24, 1999In this issue:On November 18th, Roche Diagnostics hosted a very successful briefing for international vendors and providers on the CIC's objectives and plans. Thirty-eight individuals attended the briefing. The agenda for the meeting was as follows.
There was significant interest from the attendees in participating in and contributing to the Consortium. As a direct result of the event, several organizations indicated interest in becoming members of the CIC. We received a significant number of comments on a wide variety of topics regarding the most recent draft of the CIC Bylaws. Comprising these comments and addressing the issues raised will take a few more weeks. Many of organizations have confirmed that it is vitally important to finish and ratify the Consortium bylaws before launching the Consortium. In turn, we must modify the timeline for the remainder of the year to meet this goal. In summary, the changes to the schedule are the following:
The work of the Consortium will require the efforts of a large number of people, from a broad range of point-of-care testing backgrounds. We will assemble this group from a list of individuals nominated to participate in and contribute to the Consortium. These nominees must belong to member organizations, however anyone may make a nomination. Nominations will be accepted until December 31, 1999.
